We selected the native brook trout for our logo because it is our keystone species. To protect it, we need to preserve all of the values of the Savage River watershed.

Savage River Watershed Association

Who we are

We are landowners and citizens who share an appreciation and concern about the Savage River watershed.  Though we come from diverse backgrounds we’re united in our efforts to protect and restore the watershed. We were inspired by efforts to restore water quality in Aaron Run, the only tributary within the watershed impacted by AMD.  Since its inception in March 2006, SRWA has made many great achievements through environmental stewardship and educational outreach towards protecting and improving the watershed. We selected the native brook trout for our logo because it is our keystone species.  To protect it, we need to preserve all of the values of the Savage River watershed.
